Introduction of Closing Auction Session (CAS)

Investors are requested to note, as per the latest Exchange guidelines, a Closing  Auction Session (CAS) will be introduced in the equity cash segment for stocks with  Futures & Options (F&O) contracts, effective 3 August 2026. The CAS will be conducted  from 3:15 PM to 3:35 PM on all trading days in the following phases.

NSE has released a communique “Introduction of Closing Auction Session (CAS) in the  Equity Cash segment” dated on May 29,2026. 

As per the latest Exchange guidelines, a Closing Auction Session (CAS) will be introduced in  the equity cash segment for stocks with Futures & Options (F&O) contracts, effective 3  August 2026.

What is Changing?
The closing price of eligible F&O stocks will now be determined through a dedicated Closing Auction Session (CAS) instead of the current methodology. The CAS will be conducted from 3:15 PM to 3:35 PM on all trading days in the following phases:

Intraday Auto Square-off Timings:
Kindly note the following Funds India internal risk policy timings for auto square-off ahead of the revised market timings:

     F&O Stocks: 3:00 PM 
     Non-F&O Stocks: 3:15 PM
