  • HDFC Mutual fund launches debt fund in aid of Cancer cure research Fri, 18/02/2011


    Cancer is the scourge of our times. We all know somebody who has been affected by this illness to some degree or the other. Many of us have lost someone we know to this disease.

    Now, there is a chance to contribute in a meaningful way towards trying to find a cure for Cancer - using your investments!

    HDFC Mutual fund has launched an innovative fund called the HDFC Debt Fund for Cancer Cure. Investors in this fund can contribute all or half of the dividends accruing in the investment for the cause of Cancer research.

    The dividend income on your investment will be donated to the Indian cancer Society. Let's fight cancer together.

    This is a 3-year closed ended capital protection oriented income scheme 50% or 100% of your dividend income will be donated (Section 80G# benefit available). The minimum investment amount on this scheme is Rs. 1 lakh.

    No investment and advisory fee shall be charged by HDFC AMC

    The Scheme enables the Unit holders to donate full or part of dividend declared on its corpus to this approved public charitable trust. Such donations made by the Mutual Fund/ AMC on behalf of the Unit holders shall be eligible for claiming deduction under Section 80G of Income-tax Act, 1961. Dividend income is not assured and is subject to availability of distributable surplus.

    Offer of Units at 10 each for cash during the New Fund Offer (NFO)

    # In view of Individual nature of Tax consequences, each investor is advised to consult his/her own professional tax advisor for availing tax deductions under Section 80G of the Indian Income-tax Act, 1961.
