Some say the 1st of the month is the best date for an SIP while some say the 5th of the month is the best date for an SIP and so on.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So, what is the best date for an SIP?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Is there really an ideal date to select for an SIP?&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Do the dates really matter over a long period of time?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s find out&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assume you have been investing Rs 10,000 via SIP every month in Nifty 50 TRI for different time frames &#8211; There is no significant advantage gained by selecting any particular date.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong><span style=\"color:#05d864\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Insight: There is no such thing as an \u201cideal date\u201d or \u201cbest date\u201d for an Equity SIP. Over long periods of time, your SIP date does not make much of a difference.<\/span>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>All said and understood, you might still be thinking\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is there a simple thumb rule to choose your Equity SIP date?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><span style=\"color:#05d864\" class=\"has-inline-color\">We suggest setting your SIP date within 2-3 days of your salary credit.&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Why?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Setting your SIP date within 2-3 days of your salary credit helps ensure financial discipline and creates a habit of saving before spending. This means your salary first goes towards savings (i.e your investments) and then with the balance you are free to spend.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4><strong><span style=\"color:#0059fe\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Summing it up&nbsp;<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Over long periods of time, the Equity SIP date does not make any significant difference to overall returns.
